APRIL 2021 RE-OPENING

In line with the current government “roadmap” we hope to be open for outdoor service from Monday April 12th. It’s likely that our kitchen will not be open initially, but we are hoping to have some tasty street food type offers over the weekends. We’ll keep you posted on the kitchen re-opening, but it will definitely be open when inside service resumes on May 17th. We’re not sure exactly what our regular opening hours will be yet, but we will definitely be open for the full week of 12th-19th April. CHARITY CHRISTMAS CRAFT SALE & COFFEE MORNING

We’re holding a Charity Coffee Morning and Homemade Craft Sale in aid of Florence Nightingale Hospice and The Nightingale Rainbow in the marquee at the pub on Saturday 12th December from 10am ‘til 1pm. Come along grab a coffee and buy some lovely craft items for a fantastic cause.

Re-opening on Wednesday December 2nd

The King and Queen re-opens on Wednesday 2nd December at 5pm. As you know there are new and stricter rules in place throughout the country and as Buckinghamshire is in Tier 2 there are new restrictions on how we operate. A full list is detailed here, but most importantly we can only serve drinks alongside a “substantial meal”, so you won’t be able to just walk in and have a pint or glass of wine. We strongly suggest that you phone and book if you want to be sure of a table. Due to these restrictions we will also be operating changed opening hours, which are also shown here. ·      PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE “NHS COVID19 APP” - USE YOUR SMART PHONE TO SCAN THE UNIQUE NHS TRACK AND TRACE QR CODE, WHICH IS DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THE PUB. IF YOU DON’T HAVE A SMART PHONE PLEASE LET A MEMBER OF STAFF KNOW AND WE WILL TAKE YOUR CONTACT  DETAILS.

THE KING AND QUEEN WILL BE OPEN FROM 12 NOON ON THE 4TH JULY. BELOW YOU WILL FIND SOME RULES, GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION ABOUT OPENING. THESE ARE NOT ONLY IN PLACE TO COMPLY WITH GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE REGARDING SAFE OPERATION, BUT ARE ALSO INTENDED TO MAKE THE DIFFICULT JOB OF RE-OPENING SLIGHTLY EASIER AND TO HELP US PROVIDE A MORE ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE FOR CUSTOMERS AND STAFF ALIKE. 

MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE WILL BE NO SERVICE AT THE BARS ON RE-OPENING. TABLE SERVICE ONLY, MEANS THAT SERVICE MAY TAKE LONGER THAN NORMAL AND THAT IF ALL THE TABLES ARE TAKEN, THEN WE ARE FULL. THERE WILL BE FAR FEWER TABLES INSIDE SO DRESS FOR THE ENGLISH SUMMER AND REMEMBER TO B.Y.O.B (THAT’S BRING YOUR OWN BLANKET!)

Book Launch - Will Burns - POSTPONED!

Your friendly K&Q barman and former Faber New Poet of the Year, Will Burns has his first major book of poetry published this year. We have a launch night here at the pub on Saturday April 4th, with Will, plus guest readings from a couple of his favourite poets and a musical interlude from Danny Wilson (Grand Drive, Danny and the Champions of the World).
