An alternative Burns Night hosted by Faber poet and local Will Burns - A night celebrating poetry, music and conviviality.
Come and catch two up and coming literary talents in the intimate surroundings of the King and Queen, with readings of their own original work as well as some Robert Burns favourites... with a very, very special guest still to be announced, this promises to be a cracking night of poetry.
Your poets for the evening will be:
Declan Ryan
Born in Ireland and raised in London, Declan Ryan was named one of the four Faber New Poets in 2014, his work praised in The Guardian for its '... unshowy candiness and emotional power.' Declan is an assured, accomplished poet of rare gifts.
Ruby Silk
Ruby Silk was born and raised in Brighton. A musician and poet, and currently working as a poetry editor at Ambit, Ruby is part of a hugely exciting young generation of poets working in English and destined for great things.
We will also be serving Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, Cranachan and Bobby Burns cocktails on the night. Booking advisable...

We are delighted to be announced winners of the Aylesbury Vale Village Pub Competition - Best Community Pub winner 2016/17.
This is a fantastic achievement within our first year, especially as the award is for a 'Community Pub' which is exactly what we are trying to provide here for the people of Wendover and surrounding areas.
We'd like to thank everyone that nominated us, the judges and of course our fantastic team, Ben, Sam, Lyndsey and Lochie and perhaps most of all our regular customers who really are the most vital part of what makes a truly great local.
You can read more about the awards here and see us featured in the Aylesbury Vale Recommended Pub Guide 2016/17 here
Dust off your best witches and goblin outfits for our Day of the Dead event on Saturday 29th October!
It's that time of year again where the streets are filled with goblins, witches and ghostly ghouls.... All lost souls should make their way to the King & Queen for a spooky day and evening filled with live music, Halloween food/drinks and games for the kids throughout the day.
Maybe we will even get a visit from our very own resident ghost, spotted by eagle-eyed locals over the years....
