The Rambling Allstar Review
Sunday 28th August 7pm - 8.30pm

Martin met Cheyne Pride around 2008 while a member of Hank Wangford’s Lost Cowboys (which he still is), and has worked with her on and off since then as a duo or part of a full band. Cheyne is American by birth but a long time resident of the UK. She sings Country with a voice as clear as a mountain stream and rhythm and blues as dirty as Muddy Waters! Many will also know her in her Elvis persona ‘Queenie Creole’. Cheyne was formerly a backing singer with The Pogues.

The Beatniks - Live at The King and Queen, July 31st 2016

July 13, 2016  /  Peter Donne

The Beatniks are Den Pugsley (vocals and Bass guitar) and Jamie Cook (vocals and Acoustic guitar). Den and Jamie are members of The Overtures ("quite simply the ultimate 60’s covers band"), who also play occasional dates as a duo. Completely 'live' with no backing tracks whatsoever - performing mainly 60's music, including The Kinks, Stones, Beatles, Who, Everly Bros and Small Faces etc, occasionally straying round the edges of the 1960’s!

Den and Jamie will play two sets with a short intermission, in the garden (weather permitting) from 6pm on Sunday.

Bob Collum and The Welfare Mothers - Live Saturday July 9th

July 05, 2016  /  Peter Donne

... kinda alt-country, rock & roll and a smidgen of folk with a potent dose of guilt, a dollop of sin and a drop of salvation ...

You may have caught Bob Collum and his pedal steel guitarist at our Beer Festival in early May. If you enjoyed them (or you missed them) be sure to see them, with the full band, this Saturday (in the garden if the weather is good). Two sets of pub rocking americana starting at 8.30pm

The Weathertop Preachers - Live - Saturday June 25th, 8.30pm

June 13, 2016  /  Peter Donne

Two highly experienced rock 'n' roll gentlemen performing an audience pleasing selection of up-tempo, Americana-tinged acoustic music. The Weathertop Preachers' are a professional duo, with a repertoire consisting of classic rock, country rock and alternative rock cover songs, originally performed by artists who are synonymous with popular rock 'n' roll folklore.

The Preachers are former members of signed bands and have, independently of each other, both written and released charting singles. Their pedigree comes from almost 20 years of incessant playing and touring with originals bands, during which time they worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Noel Gallagher and Andy Bell of Oasis, Robbie Williams, Nick Hayward, Rod Argent, and well known producers like Trevor Horn, Brian O'Shaughnessy and Nick Tauber.

The Weathertop Preachers will play two sets and once again the setting will be the pub garden if weather permits.

You can check out more about the band and hear some of their music here..
