The King and Queen - Country and Beer Festival Sat. Apr 30th - Mon. May 2nd — **The King and Queen - Country and Beer Festival Sat. Apr 30th - Mon. May 2nd**

So it's only 3 day to go until the Mayday Bank Holiday (although it feels a bit more like December) and our Country and Beer Festival (Sat 30th April - Monday May 2nd). Still the sun is shining as I write and hopefully the weather will be kind.

The beer is all here and there'll be outside food all weekend.

Live music all weekend, kicking off around 2pm (timings are loose) on

Saturday:

James Walbourne - One half of husband and wife duo The Rails, guitar wrangler for Son Volt and The Pretenders and all-round good guy, this is a rare solo outing.

Ruby Silk - London based poet and songwriter performs a solo set

The Sisters Brothers - Classic country covers from local Alt.Country legend and Tailors frontman Adam Killip and Will Burns.

John-George Cooper - Local songsmith who cut his teeth in venues like Nambucca and The Windmill returns to his roots for first show in five years.

Sunday (from 2pm):

Bob Collum - Oklahoma-born and now Essex-based, songwriter Bob Cullm will be playing tunes from his latest LP Little Rock

Legends of Country - Jof Owen, front man for The Boy Least Likely To and former Wendover resident, returns to the village for a much awaited debut of his new classic country band.

Philip Rambow & Martin Belmont - Pub Rock (and beyond) legends (Graham Parker, Ducks Deluxe, The Winkies, Tex Pistols, Kirsty MacColl - the list is endless and impressive). Expect to hear original songs, country and rockabilly classics.

Flying Mojito Brothers (DJ Set) - A couple of young bucks making waves on the festival circuit - Country, Soul_Funk and Disco.

We are delighted to welcome Second Earth Records, Aylesbury's newest online (and Aylesbury Market) music store. They will be here on Sunday with a pop-up shop (vinyl and CD), showcasing new, alternative and underground music.

Monday:

OPEN-MIC DAY - Bring the instrument of your choice, your band (and gear), or just your voice (if you're feeling bold) and impress us! Email us if you want to, or just show up.

Country and Beer Festival 30th April - 2nd May

Things are starting to take shape for our first major event since taking over The K&Q in February. 10 guest ales, including local beers from Rebellion, Vale and Tring, guest ciders and food, of course.

Live (and DJ) music throughout the weekend. On Saturday, James Walbourne (The Rails, The Pretenders), Ruby Silk, The Sisters Brothers and John George Cooper. On Sunday Legends of Country, Philip Rambow & Martin Belmont and Flying Mojito Bros. Monday will be an Open Mic day. We'll post some more detail on everyone who's playing (and when) in the coming days and more acts will be added.

On the Sunday there will be a pop-up from Second Earth Records, Aylesbury's newest record shop (online and every Saturday at Aylesbury Market).

Sunday also coincides with the Wendover Celebrates event, with loads of great stuff going on. So it's the perfect opportunity to check this out too, especially as it's only up the road from the K&Q.
